Another race in Central Park ! This is my 8+1 race so far, so just another race and I’ll get in 2016 NYC (if I want to run it, which will depend on how much I enjoy my 2015 NYC marathon )

A bit hot and humid, start at 8:00 a.m., which meant a wake up call at 6:45 and a quick breakfast before a short taxi run to Columbus Circle. Then a walk to the departure line.

Elisabeth and Evelyne wore Namban Rengo running T-shirts. I ran with my 2009 Tokyo marathon finisher T-shirt. 2009 TM is my PB race so far 😉

As usual, we lined up in the last corral, went past the departure line in 10 minutes, then went on working cat hills, the reservoir, the hills on West side and the finish on 72nd street.

I went on at 9:30 pace, which is quite hard in the first hill after the departure line. It is slow but I just recently started to run on week days, after the long days at work. I need to cut on the bread to lose some weight. I’m still at 82 kg. I stopped coffee in January, alcohol in March but i still have the same weight. I over compensate with bagels and bread.

I finished in 39:31, at bit slower than last month. Out of 5.580 starters, I finished 3,656th and 2,358 out of 3,000 men for a pace of 9:53. I walked the first hill on the West side. No pressure.

Next week, we’ll volunteer for the 2015 Brooklyn Half Marathon. We’ll be manning the baggage area at the arrival on Coney Island !

And we’ll qualify automatically for next year 2016 Brooklyn HM which sold out in 2 hours this year.
