We volunteered today at the NYRR’s Women Half Marathon, at 6:00 a.m. We first helped on the food stands (pretzel bags and apple).

We worked till 12:30. It was mostly the baggage stand. I worked the 10,000 -10,999 corral. We received very few bags, 80 in total. Runners came back slowly to pick up the bags. By 12:00, all but one bag have been claimed.

The race has been won by Deena Kastor, the US bronze medal at 2004 at Athens, in 1:12:51.

We met lots of nice people. Volunteering for NYRR is really great. A bit early though for a Sunday morning.

Next race in three weeks.
