How to prepare for a half marathon in 2 weeks?

The recovery week went OK. I just went swimming on Friday and a short recovery run on Saturday.

I really enjoy swimming and I noticed a swimming lesson in lane 1. I should consider taking lessons as I’m too slow. 700 meters.

Saturday, recovery run from the house, to Ichigaya (flat), Yotsuya (first hill), The Prince palace (2 hills), back to Sophia university on the fortifications (last hill), then down hill from Yotsuya till Iidabashi. 8.5 kilometer in about one hour. No watch, no ipod, no glasses and no cap. Minimalist.

And I now have a half marathon in two weeks: I’ll beef up the weekly mileage and rest three days before the race in altitude. I’ll need cool weather with rain if possible. I’m not sure I’ll be able to beat my PB but I’ll give it a try.

Week: 8.5 km
May: 92 km
Year: 730 km
