It’s cicada country. They are everywhere and very well awake at 6:30.

Tuesday, July 29: 4.5k from Wakamiyacho, Iidabashi to Ichigaya, Yotsuya and return along the moat on the way up, along the famous hill of 39th K of Tokyo International Marathon. Return via the fortified moat along the train track.

Wednesday, July 30: 6K on the track of Oda field. We had our regular 5K time trial.
My splits: 5’27”, 5’35”, 5’57”, 6’06”, 5’59 for a total of 28’53″39. Not bad for a mid summer run. Some wind, hot and humid. After the race, we streched a bit and the wind was almost cold. We had a good pizza at an Italian restaurant in Venire, Venire in Harajuku. Iv. a colleague from our office joined the training for the first time.

Thursday, July 31: Cross training.

Friday: A 6:30, 4.5K tranquille.

Dimanche 3 Aout: Départ matinal pour 10.3 km around Iidabashi, Kudanshita, Takebashi, the Imerial Palace and return through the same road. Hot already at 7:00, all lot of regulars. I carefully hydrated myself along the way. Total 1:12’14”, moyenne de 7’07” au kilomètre. Un tournoi de judo au Budokan.

Mardi 5 Aout: Small run at 6:30. 3K in hot and humid weather, 30 degres and 85 percent humidity. It’s like swimming. Slow run to Ichigaya and Iidabashi train station, another kind of ekiden.

Mercredi 6 Aout.

Week: 27.2 km
August: 37.5 km
July: 94.4 km
Year: 498.9 km <– bientot 500…
